Handsworth Nursery and Primary School, Lagos, is a forward-thinking educational institution committed to raising confident, creative, and future-ready learners. Founded in January 2016, the school was established with a clear vision—to provide high-quality, values-driven education that nurtures both academic excellence and character development.
With official name approval granted on January 7, 2016, by the Office of Education Quality Assurance, Ministry of Education, Lagos State Government, the school began its academic journey in September 2016 with just ten pupils. What started as a modest initiative has grown into a thriving learning community impacting thousands of lives.
Handsworth school has continued to move from strength to Strength and have been in full operation since then.
The school is unique with the fact that it offers an exclusive blend of British system of education and that of the Nigerian Curriculum.
HANDSWORTH SCHOOL has since made ground breaking progress and achievements. The school, known for its class of unique approaches towards everything about education, has continue to evolve tailor-made strategies of imparting children positively. Within the period of its existence, HANDSWORTH SCHOOL has participated in many competitions and has won The best presenters in 2020 international Kids creativity and innovation award.
The school has continue to challenge the high and mighty in education anywhere it meets them. HANDSWORTH SCHOOL is the school to beat in its catchment area. The school is well known for setting new standard in quality education due to the quality of research.

Our Journey
From an initial enrolment of 10 pupils, one Supervisor, and four teachers in 2016, Handsworth has grown remarkably over the years.
The year 2020 marked a significant milestone as three student teams emerged as Best Presenters at the International Creativity and Innovation Award (ICIA)—a global platform that promotes creativity and innovation among young learners. This achievement led to a valuable and ongoing collaboration with Krya Global.
In 2025, during the International Children’s Day celebration, Handsworth pupils once again demonstrated excellence by winning the Most Remarkable Presentation Awards in Time Management and Peer Pressure categories.
